Ha ha, my prelims are OVER!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So just wanna say thanks to u guys for praying for me:) Oh well, HAPPY USHERING to those ushering this sat.! Come to think of it, im ushering too!!! YAY!!!!!!! And to those who aren't ushering...bring your friends k? Cya!!!!!!!!!:)

yoZ...ushering in the first service was cool. u get to see how the organisation takes place and all. and i got plans pple. lots of plan for how we usher for christmas musical. BE PREPARED! be VERY prepared for changes, new things and lots more. think we need a practice run before the musical for tat.

and those who are signing up for chirstmas muscial auditions, GO AHEAD! i mean it. dun let obligations to ushering stop you. we'll make do without u...boo hoo...haahZ. but yupp...(gen...go dance...we'll be watching... :D) only one requirement...tell me if u get in so at least i know who cannot usher...

hmm...guess tats all. when we move up to worship centre, we will need all the manpower we can get, so be regular ushers pple. and we gotta be more organised and focused. hahZ...no more chatting during service. :)

Hey fellow ushers!!!!

Yay! I was ushering for the second service and it was AWESOME!!! I was helping to give out the bulletins, and I learnt some new phrases from the adult ushers, so other then the standard 'welcome to megalife', maybe we could try something like:" Hi! Good afternoon!" , or " Hello! I hope you enjoy the service!" and maybe " Hi! God bless you!" etc. Ha ha, giving out bulletins were fun, it was just so amazing to see so many people flooding the santuary, until they had to arrange chairs outside the door! So cool! Imagine MEGALIFE invading the worship centre.. and suddenly we go like" Oh no! no more space! must put some chairs outside!" DARE TO BELIEVE, USHERS!!!:) There were so many people that when the sermon was about to begin we ran out of english bulletins and we had to give out the chinese ones!!!:) All in all I really learnt quite a bit from the adult ushers, so WOOHOO!! Can't wait for MEGALIFERS to flood the worship centre!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! (sorry, a little bit high;))

AND LET THAT FIRE OF GOD SPREAD LIKE WILDFIRE, FELLOW USHERS!!!:)

ok...some stuff to add after reading all ur posts...

while i do agree tat there are some stuff i dun agree with how chc handled some stuff. i think there's still lots to learn...besides they have more experience cos they've been doin this for so long and they know wat to do and wat not to do. but either way...u all shld be careful on wat u guys say abt other churches cos in the end we are still one big body of christ and not muz megalife ushers.

yupp mel i agree with u...there are so many ways to usher...and i never grow sick of it. juz serving my friends in school is a way to usher too..and tats how u testify abt god's love. thru servanthood. hahaZ...my classmates think i'm crazy cos i usually put back the plates from all the stalls no matter where i eat. haha...but tats a way to serve others too. its small and goes unnoticed but trust me...God sees everything...

hello(:it was really a pleasure and joy to usher at fop and meet new people.the ushers were given tags that looked like the above.except cordelia.haha.learned to kinda step out of my comfort zone while watching how other ushers work though i didn't really agree with the 'certain people can't return to their seats after going to the toilet' idea that chc does.ushering at fop was about the same as in church except that you had to really pack and move the people forward and fill up the empty seats.i agree with melissa that it was a good learning ground to prepare us for the worship centre.it was really cool to just turn around and see many people worshipping at the indoor stadium.really hope that i can get the chance to usher at fop again(:

ushering at FOP was a great experience. i got to learn abt how other churches usher and talk to to other ushers...found out how they do stuff in church and all. it's a really great exp...wat we learn now will come in very useful esp when we move up to worship centre.

can u imagine, we stand on the steps and then: "seats for how many??" hahaZ. COOL!!
it'll be really good. so at least u all know how to do crowd control and stuff now. SO TEACH THE REST!!

i'm glad u guys had a chance to serve at FOP...but NEXT year give the others a chance...but for now...lets spread the fire to the rest of the ushers and serve with a smile!

FOR FESTIVAL OF PRAISE (FOP) EVENT, SATURDAY, 5 AUGUST 2006
Reporting Time: 4PM SHARP**
Reporting Point: SIS’s SOUTH-EAST Entrance (loading / unloading bay).
Attire: SMART Casual (but jeans are allowed)
What to do when you reach there:
- Do not enter the gates nor approach the security personnel at gate.
- Look out for our Usher Supervisors, namely myself and sister Cordelia.
- We will issue the Usher tags to you at 4pm, and we will enter thru the gates
thereafter.
**PLEASE BE PUNCTUAL. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ENTER THIS
GATE WITHOUT YOUR USHER TAGS.
Ps. There will be other (many) churches’ ushers meeting there.
So, do cater time for locating the place, and locating each other.

Once we are inside, we will proceed to the 4 terrace blocks allocated to
RiverLife Church for Saturday night’s duty.
At our 4 blocks, we’ll assume positions and responsibilities for these areas.
- cordoning off our terrace areas till ground arena (below us) is filled.
- upon instructions, we’ll open our terrace blocks, filling from bottom up.
- once our blocks are filled, the other teams will open the balcony seats above us.
- handing out free magazines, small offering envelopes, flyers etc as they come in.
- ushering people to the seats, ensuring safety and orderliness at all times.
- help direct people to restrooms or exits if required.
- control the movement of people returning from restrooms during Word time.
- help minimize (especially children) noise when the Word is preached.
- help direct people down during altar call.
Communication channels
- RLC ushers will take cues from our RLC supervisors
(myself as Main IC asst by 2ICs Jennifer and It loong, and Cordelia as Youth IC).
- myself will be cued by CHC ushers, and CHC ushers by their Chief usher Francis.
Note:
offering will be collected by the CHC ushers. Our role is to keep a watchful eye on
the C4 envelopes that are being passed around. Report incidents up if they happen.
We can assist in passing them at row ends etc but eventually CHC ushers will
consolidate them.

- nursery is available. but for older kids, they are to join their parents
- translation available, but only in Korean, in the north arena
- reserved seats are for sponsors. Open only when instructed
- 10 ferry buses available, operates one hour before and after event (only till 11pm)
